Trainee volunteer facilitators of the SELL Programme Ghana organized step-down workshops in the communities of Damongo, Bole and Tinga in the Savannah Region.
The Programme’s Community Building unit was the focus of the corresponding workshops which took place, July 8-10.
Participants were taken through a variety of sessions where they examined the task of building and sustaining genuine community life, the challenge of living with people from different cultures, affirming the central role women play in life that is often underappreciated, valued and respected and the necessity of caring for the environment.
At the end of the workshops, participants expressed their desire to help improve their local communities saying that the experience had transformed them.
In Damongo, forty-five (45) young people participated, thirty-nine (39) in Tinga, and thirty-four (34) in Bole.
